Support to Ukraine & neighbouring countries

Tool to support initiatives between professional organisations across Europe

The invasion of the Russian Army to Ukraine has led to an unprecedented impact on the lives of millions of people, leading among other to a mass influx of Ukrainian war refugees to other regions within Ukraine and to neighbouring countries, including also many people with a childhood-onset disability. As a result, health care centers for people with a disability in Ukraine and neighbouring countries are currently facing several challenges, including the need for correct treatment advice, access to the right medicine, equipment, and medical devices.

In order to bring efforts together from across Europe to support these professional organisations, the European Academy of Childhood Disability has created two questionnaire tools to facilitate inter- and intra-regional cooperation and support initiatives between professional organisations across Europe.

One questionnaire tool allows any professional organisation or individual who is able to provide any form of support to people with a childhood disability affected by the war to indicate what kind of support they are able to provide. This may include among other the provision of equipment (e.g. wheelchairs/assistive devices), provision of essential medicine, provision of treatment to children who fled the country, and/or provision of medical devices needed in medical institutions.

The other questionnaire tool allows any professional organisation who needs support in terms of the provision of equipment (e.g. wheelchairs/assistive devices), provision of essential medicine, provision of treatment to children who fled the country, and/or provision of medical devices needed in medical institutions to indicate what kind of support they need exactly. Based on the responses, the EACD and its partners will attempt to coordinate all efforts from across Europe for the benefit of people with a childhood-onset disability.

EACD will only facilitate contact between parties who indicated their interest to provide support and/or needs for support. Under no circumstances will the EACD be held responsible or liable in any way for any claims, damages, losses, expenses, costs or liabilities whatsoever (including, without limitation, any direct or indirect damages for loss of profits, business interruption or loss of information) resulting or arising directly or indirectly from your use of this website tool or any websites linked to it, or from your reliance on the information and material on this website or via this tool.
